Keweenaw Brewgrass at Club Showcase!!
Keweenaw Brewgrass is one of the newest bluegrass groups in the
Copper Country. Their unique sound is an eclectic blend of
traditional bluegrass, moving to Texas Swing, acoustic rock, and
"anything rhythmic". KBG is a 5-piece group whose members are Doug
Oppliger (guitar/vocals), Bogue Sandberg (7-string Dobro), Craig
Kurtz (5-string banjo), Marshall Weathersby (mandolin/guitar/vocals),
and Jim Hertel (doghouse bass). They claim the Dillards, Bob Wills,
Van Morrison, Willie Nelson, and Little Feat as some of their main
influences. Not lacking for humor they say, "we can ruin songs from
any genre with the simple twang of the banjo!"
Club Showcase has "table seating" (for about 200), a performance
stage with professional sound, lighting, and "club" ambience, and a
concessions bar. And all of this for only a $5/ticket! Tickets
available at the door.
Don't miss Keweenaw Brewgrass at!
