Ballet Folklorico de Mexico de Amalia Hernandez
From Mexico City to Michigan Tech, the sixty-member Ballet Folklorico
brings a dazzling spectacle of folk dances from different regions of
Mexico. The dancers take the stage in a whirl of dazzling color and
exuberant music, with handkerchief whirling and stamping from Tixtla, the
beautiful figure dances of Chiapas, the lariat dance and cavalcade of
warriors on hobby horses of Zacatecas, and of course, the onstage mariachi
and marimba musicians of Jalisco.
