--
Mark your calandar, grab your bugnet and buckle your chin-strap for
this year's National Trails Day Festivities in Copper Harbor. The fun
all begins at 9:30am on Saturday June 3 at the Keweenaw Adventure
Company in "downtown" Copper Harbor. Volunteers are needed to help to
whip the Mountain Bike & Hiking Trails into shape for the season,
including removing deadfall & debris, raking, brush trimming, bridge
building, benching/root removal, making a couple of re-routes and
working on some new trail creation.

As a token of appreciation for all of hard work of the volunteers, the
CH Trail Crew is helping to sponsor a live performance by "Mike Labeau
& The Blackflies" as a part of the event. The band will begin ~ 9:30
at Zik's Bar & Grill and will be free to all trail work volunteers.
There will be a $5 cover to anyone else who'd like to attend.

Copper Harbor has some tools available, however folks could bring
rakres, loppers and pulaskis and McCloud's if available. Did I
mention a Bugnet? If you can't be here at 9:30, feel free to stop by
the shop throughout the day and volunteers will be directed to various
work crews needing assisatnce.

A free pasta feed for volunteers will be at the Mariner North ~ 7:00
and free showers and sauna time will be available at the Harbor Lights
Inn. A limited amount of tent space is available behind the shop for
folks who'd rather not make the drive following the fun.
