The Copper Country Guatemala Accompaniment Project (CCGAP) will be
having our annual raffle and dance party on Saturday evening 7PM at
the community hall in the Portage Campus of Finlandia University--
that's the old Portage Hospital in Hancock.
The Uptown Swingsters will be playing. I heard them Sunday night and
they were sounding good, lots of swing tunes. We should have some
Spanish songs worked out also.
The Daily Grind will have food for sale, they said they'd be making a
special of some kind and of course they offer drinks as well.
Tickets for the raffle will be sold at the door for $5.00 apiece and
once you see the prizes you may want to buy a whole bunch of
tickets. Most of the prizes are textiles from Guatemala,
(bedspreads, bags, shirts and vests, a poncho) but we also have some
really lovely framed photos of Guatemalan children taken--and framed--
by jd slack.
