All, the local music list server is very healthy these days. At the rate
that the list has been growing, there will over 1000 active subscriptions i=
n
the next few months. I see a lot of people at local music events, and I kno=
w
the list has been a vehicle for getting the word out. The list averaged 1.7
posts per day for Feb. Thanks to everyone for helping.

FYI: local music list typed into google shows our page at #3.
Add quotations and =B3local music list=B2 is #1 and #2 on google. Impressive.

Musicians, thanks for your detailed and entertaining announcements. As
always, getting the information out at least 4 days before your gig is the
best way to get full distribution via the list. There seems to be a heavy
amount of postings at the beginning and the end of the week indicating both
early birds and slackers. Just remember that whenever you are posting, keep
in mind WHO, WHAT, WHERE and WHEN. This is getting better all the time.
Additionally, please feel free to collect email addresses at your shows. A
formal signup sheet or marker on the back of a hand will help keep your fan=
s
informed. Feel free to email addresses to me for signup, or direct them to
the list below.

Listeners, thank you for supporting local music in this area. You are
helping support both the musicians and the venues that host us. Everyone
wins here. Feel free to post with opportunities for musicians or even
general questions.

Establishments, thank you for choosing to have live, local music in your
restaurants, bars, ballrooms, theaters, parks, boats, pavilions, and on you=
r
rooftops. Your places are more appealing and hopefully more profitable with
the inclusion of local music. I=B9m especially pleased that some of you even
have multiple nights and multiple performers per night at your places. Your
postings that summarize your schedule for the week or month are helpful and
get a double hit with postings from the performers that you=B9ve booked for
that timeframe. =20

All, remember that your subscriptions are customizable via the web
interface. I notice a lot of subscribers choose to batch the mailings,
resulting in a single email containing all the day=B9s postings which is
especially handy. Remember also that all postings sit in a queue before
distribution. Each post is reviewed to make sure it fits the standards of
the list. (applicable to local music, minimal profanity, no forwarded or
cc=B9d messages, duplicates, small attachments, etc) I=B9ve been rejecting spam
as well, though it is pretty low. Keep all this in mind as you are waiting
for your posting to go through. I assure you, they are reviewed as quickly
as possible.=20
